Definition, Symptoms, Causes, Medications, Treatment, Prevention, and Home Remedies for Anxiety

Anxiety Effects

Anxiety is caused by multiple factors. Anxiety can be triggered by a variety of factors for different individuals. What some may be able to handle effortlessly may pose a significant emotional challenge for others. Anxiety can be a result of other underlying conditions, or it can become a way of life for many individuals. It is the result of conditioned behavior in response to stimuli. However, the numerous contributing factors are listed below.

Molecular genetics

Anxiety is as genuine as any other physical condition. Modern science has identified genes believed to be responsible for modifying brain circuitry in a manner that induces anxiety. The gene responsible for serotonin transporters is the one most frequently found to be altered in anxiety patients. These transporters are crucial for maintaining the equilibrium of neurochemical concentrations across diverse neuronal membranes. A transporter defect results in an imbalance of neurotransmitters, which can disrupt normal stress coping mechanisms. The extent of genetic influence on anxiety is still under investigation. There has not yet been identified a particular pattern by which these genes manifest or are inherited.
