Sleep Problems
Sleep disturbance and anxiety are interrelated as symptoms and effects of one another. Nighttime anxiety is accompanied by ruminations, thereby disrupting the normal sleep cycle. Patients may experience difficulty falling slumber because their minds are preoccupied with anxious thoughts. Otherwise, the patient might have difficulty sleeping throughout the night. According to studies, there is a decrease in the REM phase of sleep, which indicates an effect on deep slumber. A disturbed night’s slumber can exacerbate anxiety in an unrested mind. Nightmares are an additional obstacle encountered within this aspect. Nightmares can be explained by the mind’s propensity for negative thought processes, even during slumber.
