Not To Ignore Symptoms Of Gout
Some gout symptoms, such as pain and edoema in the big toe, are readily apparent. However, some symptoms may be more subtle. Pay close attention to the following symptoms and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of them.
Ache In Your Great Toe
This symptom is regarded as the classic indicator of a gouty attack. Uric acid is both a byproduct of normal metabolism and a nutrient. When the body is unable to break down uric acid, as a result of diabetes, kidney disease, old age, or a hypertension medication, uric acid will accumulate and produce urate crystals. Due to the constricted blood vessels, these crystals tend to migrate throughout the body and become lodged in the toe. Here, they are attacked by foreign pathogens, resulting in classic symptoms including excruciating pain, fever, and swelling.
