Inter-Critical or Interval Gout
Inter-critical gout, also known as interval gout, is a form of gout characterised by periods of acute gout attacks. If the disease is being appropriately treated, subsequent attacks of gout may not occur for several months or years. However, if a patient does not pursue an appropriate treatment for gout, they may experience frequent attacks that last longer over time. During this period, individuals with the interval or inter-critical form of gout may experience a further deposition of uric acid crystals in their tissues and joints, which may worsen their condition.
