Stiffness Of Joints
In the aftermath of an acute gouty attack, the affected joint experiences decreased mobility. The majority of this stiffness is due to persistent symptoms such as swelling, tenderness, and aches. The associated pain makes it more difficult to move the affected joint, causing patients to voluntarily cease movement.
However, afflicted joints tend to stiffen when gouty attacks remain largely untreated and progress over time. Over time, its range of motion gradually diminishes, and the patient may manifest very little mobility.
