Skin Security
When coconut oil is applied to the skin, it may provide protection from the sun’s ultraviolet rays, which increase the risk of skin cancer and may cause brown marks and wrinkles. Coconut oil blocks nearly 20% of the sun’s UV radiation. Remember that it does not provide the same protection as conventional sunscreen, which blocks nearly 90% of UV radiation. The SPF (sun protection factor) of coconut oil is 7, which lowers the minimum recommendation in a few countries.
