Reduce Dietary Carbohydrate Consumption
Diets elevated in carbohydrates can increase the risk of age-related macular degeneration. It was substantiated by an American Journal of Clinical Nutrition study. A diet rich in carbohydrates has a high glycemic index, which causes a rapid rise in blood sugar and the release of more insulin.
Donuts, white bread, white rolls, baked goods, and other foods contain refined carbohydrates, whereas foods with a low glycemic index include cereals, grains, pulses, fruits, and vegetables.
Numerous diseases, including macular degeneration, are associated with the consumption of highly saturated foods.
