The process of Rheopheresis
This is an alternative method for treating AMD. This procedure is comparable to kidney dialysis, in which blood is removed from a vein in one arm and returned to a vein in the other arm. The objective is to eliminate substances that may contribute to AMD. There are lipids and inflammatory proteins among these substances. This treatment’s efficacy has not been established by clinical trials.
