Laser Photodynamic Therapy
These are two-step treatments that entail damaging abnormal blood vessels with a light-sensitive drug. In this procedure, Verteporfin is injected into the arm of the patient so that it can enter the circulation and detect the abnormal blood vessel in the eye. It is then consumed by the eye’s abnormal blood vessel. A laser is then shone into the eye to activate the drug and injure the abnormal blood vessel in the macula.
Laser Treatment
The use of a high-energy laser to treat aberrant blood vessel formation has been suggested by medical professionals.
