Bright Lights
Patients suffering from macular degeneration also experience flickering lights. It is most prevalent in the wet form of age-related macular degeneration because the newly developed blood vessels pull on the retina. This condition should be treated as an emergency because it can cause permanent eye injury or blindness. Ten to twenty minutes of flashing lines can be accompanied by migraines for some patients.
