Seizures
Seizures can be a sign of brain cancer, especially gliomas. Around 70%-90% patients with gliomas have had at least one seizure. Seizures are most commonly associated with low-grade neurotumors. A non-epileptic person experiencing seizures can indicate a brain disorder. A tumor may affect the balance of chemical compounds in the brain, such as glutamate, chloride, and ion. This can interfere with electrical pathways and the neuronal network. The electrical conduction in the brain can be affected by different types of seizure, depending on the extent of the tumor.
Around 15%-50% are reported as being resistant to pharmacological interventions.
