CT scans

Computerized Tomography is a technique that uses X-rays to produce images of the brain, including the vessels of the brain. This allows for the detection of brain tumours. Sometimes an MRI scan of the brain may not be the best option. Instead, a CT scan will be performed. This is a noninvasive procedure. CT scans are more frequently performed to determine if the tumour is benign or malignant, or how it responds to treatment. The doctor can formulate a plan of action based on the CT scans that show the abnormal area.
