Getting angry
Henry became very angry on the way. What had he ever done to deserve it? He missed an important meeting that could have jeopardized his position as chairman because his wife had kept horrible things from him. Henry felt an overwhelming sense of injustice. What about Tommy? He had unwittingly started this whole thing. Henry was kept in the dark regarding this family issue, and now it was expected that he drop everything to take care of it. He was furious at his wife for lying to him, but also at himself for being too indifferent about his family affairs.
Henry was also upset that he missed other important meetings on that afternoon. He was disappointed that he had to cancel them. He was concerned that his reputation and standing within the company would be affected.
Julia and Tommy
Henry was soon at the hospital when he saw Julia and Tommy. Julia was shocked when she realized that Henry had heard her pocket dial. Henry grabbed Tommy’s arm and walked over to them, telling Julia to go back to her office. Julia felt a sense of dread when she realized that Henry might have heard her talk with Andrea. She was worried she could be in serious trouble at work.
She was so certain that she hung up on the phone. Now she wasn’t so sure. She was filled anxiety because she didn’t know what Henry heard or the possible consequences. She was so ashamed and afraid that she couldn’t even look Henry directly in the eyes. Henry was in a good mood, but he didn’t give away anything about what he heard. Julia felt a mixture of emotions now, not knowing what she should expect.
