Food Allergies
Some foods can exacerbate the symptoms of atopic dermatitis. There are certain categories of food that promote inflammation when consumed. These foods include sugar, dairy, refined carbohydrates, and gluten, among others. In addition, if you already have certain food allergies, consuming them can provoke an inflammatory response and exacerbate atopic dermatitis. Consequently, monitoring the symptoms helps to determine the body’s sensitivity to nutrients. Therefore, if you have atopic dermatitis, writing down everything you consume will help you determine which foods worsen your condition. If avoiding a food item, such as dairy products, for several days enhances the symptoms of atopic dermatitis and consuming it makes the condition worse, then it is the cause of atopic dermatitis.
