An In-Depth Guide To Atopic Dermatitis

Is atopic dermatitis contagious or not?

Dermatitis atopica is not contagious. That means it is not transmitted from person to person, and if someone is afflicted, they cannot transmit it to others via clothing, contact, food sharing, or other means.
However, atopic dermatitis can be caused by numerous factors and triggers, such as environmental factors, skin allergens, animal debris, etc. Additionally, the body’s immune system and hormonal alterations may contribute to the development of atopic dermatitis. Despite these triggers, the disease is not contagious and cannot be transmitted via physical contact.
