Don’t scratch
Atopic dermatitis is frequently extremely irritating and makes it tempting to scratch, but this will only cause skin damage. As a consequence, skin stretching should be avoided, as it can exacerbate the destruction of skin cells. Chronic straining causes a region of skin to thicken and become leathery. When the epidermis is scratched deeply, it bleeds, which can lead to infection and large scars. Rather than scratching the epidermis, try pressing it. If you cannot prevent your skin from scratching the skin, you should bandage the skin. Make the children wear gloves and trim their nails to prevent skin injury. The children are also provided with anti-scratch mitts to prevent them from clawing. Bandages are applied to the affected area to prevent further skin injury.
