Phases Of Atopic Dermatitis
Depending on the person’s age, atopic dermatitis can progress through three stages. Almost all of the disease’s signs and symptoms are identical, but some differences can be observed.
Fertile phase
This is the initial stage of atopic dermatitis, which affects infants younger than 2 years old. It starts between 6 and 12 weeks of age. This disease affects the child differently dependent on its type and symptoms when it occurs at this age. This stage is characterised by the appearance of patches and vesicles on the cheekbones, as well as dry, scaly skin. Patchy rashes are visible on the jawline and cheeks. The spots can turn red. On the epidermis, lesions with an exudative appearance develop. The epidermis area responsible for the development of lesions and patches is not fixed. On any area of the infant’s epidermis, atopic dermatitis can develop. If the infant is in the crawling stage and exhibits more movement, the skin can become infected due to exposed areas of the body, such as the inner and outer limbs and legs. If cared for correctly, the skin improves by 18 months of age; however, developing it later in life is more costly.
