Darker skinĀ
Atopic dermatitis can produce darker brown, purple, and grey patches on dark skin tones. Atopic dermatitis is characterised by extensive irritation and dark circles around the eyes in African Americans. Both hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation are possible outcomes of atopic dermatitis. This discoloration can last between months and years. This colour transformation is very noticeable in children. Even after treatment for atopic dermatitis, the darker spots persist. Skin discoloration is one of the chronic symptoms of atopic dermatitis. These marks typically remain on the epidermis permanently. Once diagnosed with atopic dermatitis, proper skin care is necessary.
