Atopic Dermatitis In Children
Atopic dermatitis is characterised by the development of red rashes, crusted regions, and itchy, inflamed skin. Age determines the location of cutaneous lesions on a child.
neonates – Skin lesions are commonly observed on the face, scalp, feet, and body folds of neonates. The fluid can drain from the affected areas.
Lesions can be observed on the wrist, ankles, back of the neck, and elbows of older infants. Children who attend school itch their epidermis more frequently. Therefore, older adolescents are more likely to have lichenified skin. Children with atopic dermatitis have a low itching threshold, which makes them more susceptible to itchiness. Their skin is affected by intense itching and clawing, and the rash begins to spread. Normal sleep patterns have also been observed to be disrupted in children.
